Sam Mahoney (Rhythm and lead guitar)

Sam Mahoney was born and raised in Las Vegas by his father, a retired Policeman, by the time he was 10, the bright lights were already drawing him in. He studied ballet as a student.

This '36 year old' (quote's Dangerfield) has an envious amount of experience playing in a number of reputable metal bands from 'Black Sabbath' to 'Mega death' to 'beware of the trains to the not so reputable 'Smelly twig', but this is all in the past and the future, as always, beckons. After a successful rap career Mahoney hopes to rediscover his youth in this all out Metal Grunge band.

Sam Mahoney is one hell of a songwriter. Line him up with Bridle, Morrow, Boff (at his most adroit) and Dangerfield and you've got the very best these lands have to offer. Like them all, his ability far exceeds words. Mahoney's the kind of guy who can make you weep, laugh, swallow hard, smile at the sun and know just how rich - and poor - life is. He's a mass of yin and yang thrown in a vault of word, rhyme, cadence, dissonance and assonance, sense and sensation.

Sam's just reminded me to mention his pet hates, which are:

*Rednecks,
*Lumberjacks,
*Raspberries,
*Turnips (to a lesser extent).

Mahoney has painted so many pictures over the past 13 years through songs that wind their way through your skull. Echoing the collision of spirituality with utter stark reality.

Over the years many have questioned Mahoney's sanity and quite rightly so the guys a headcase.

Mahoney's never been short of conviction when it comes to the social, political and cultural development of the world. His music has always embraced best the very heartbeat of the world, the urban lifestyle, the country tradition and dilemma, the day-to-day realities, hopes, fears and dreams of people with such fitting songs as 'Funky Claude' and 'After the storm' but to name a few.

Mahoney is, eclectic, serious, warm, angry, stupid and confused like the rest of us. His sketchpad of life continues.
